Dear Fellow Presbyterians,

St. Paul is delighted to host Tres Rios Presbytery and the pre-Presbytery event on October 26-27, 2017.  Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday with the Call to Worship beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.  There are several events taking place in San Angelo and rooms will fill up fast!

St. Paul has a long history of taking risks for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to more faithfully demonstrate the Kingdom of Heaven in our community and beyond. From welcoming wave after wave of refugees to providing a safe haven for homeless folks, including during the most recent hurricane disaster, St. Paul believes that all we have been given is a trust from the God who loves extravagantly and gives us the means to love extravagantly, as well. Adult Daycare, Sexual Assault Victims Services, the first 12-Step groups in town, providing over a thousand people with groceries at Christmas time, and welcoming into leadership folks who are not even welcome as members at most churches in town these are all examples of our commitment to live the love of God in Jesus Christ.

It’s appropriate that at this meeting, we will be spending part of our time assembling care kits for disaster victims and discussing how God calls the church to a new thing.

San Angelo has a vibrant live music scene, beautiful river corridor, enriching arts, a nationally recognized university, the largest Permian Era trace fossil site in the world, over 70 miles of hiking trails, and much, much more.

I hope you will arrive early to hear from Dr. Chip Hardwick as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with his talk and discussion about what lessons we can learn from our history. After dinner, all of you are invited back to our home at 5332 Fairway Dr. for a Halloween-style Reformation Costume Party. Come dressed as your favorite Reformer (or theme or . . . ?) or we will provide a costume for you at the door. On Friday morning, there will be simple breakfast foods available before worship and a full meal for lunch. All of these are with no charge.

To make sure we have enough food prepared please RSVP to Theresa (for all events) as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing you in our city, church, and home very soon!
