The meeting was opened with prayer at 12:15 p.m.

Members present were:  Mark Morgan, Jinny Forbes, Don Carlton, Gary Elmquist, Carol O’Briant, Dick Murray (Via Conference Call)

 Also present were:  Jimmy Stevens (Treasurer), Jose Luis Casal (General Missioner) and Theresa Wright (Recording Clerk)

 Absent were:  David Byrd, Bob Sams

 The minutes of the September 26, 2007 meeting were approved as printed.

 Communications

 Action of Mission Committee to use funds from the Mission Fund for Colombia Project in Barranquilla .  $2000 to be sent from the Contingency for Mission Fund.  Received as information.

 Action of the Church Development Committee using Small Church Fund for Seminole Church .  $4065 to purchase and install a replacement air conditioner and paint the foyer and sanctuary.   Received as information.

 Action of the Church Development Committee increasing $83.33 monthly until May 2008 to cover Synod budget reduction to St Andrew Transformation Project.  Received as information.  It was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that Dick Murray serve on the evaluation team to meet with St Andrews Church .

 Estate of Ruby Sauer - $25,000 to be used for the benefit of St Andrews Presbyterian Mission.  Letter will be sent to St Andrews Mission regarding disbursement of funds after the funds have been received.

 Presbyterian Stewardship Conference – March 10-12, 2008 in Fort Worth , Texas .  Was received as information.  Jimmy Stevens, Gary Elmquist, Mark Morgan will plan to attend.

 Request from Project Vida for $5000 from the Presbytery Hunger Fund to provide support for 22 families with child care, rent support, clothing and food support, medical and dental care and youth activities.  It was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that the request be accepted. 

 Old Business

 Builders Fellowship call for Trinity, El Paso received $7835.  Jimmy Stevens will write an article for the newsletter to encourage churches to participate in the Builders Fellowship.

  Deliverance Temple Property – San Francisco de Asis has closed and the property is in the process of being sold.  The presbytery is currently receiving $500 a month until the property has been sold.

 Maranatha Properties – One piece of property has been sold for $29,428.  Remaining two properties are still open for sale.  Presbytery is currently receiving $500 a month from the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for rent of the sanctuary.

 Review the Scheduled Maintenance for 2008

New Postage Meter was leased for 2008.

 2006 CPA Financial Review – Review has not been completed to date.  It was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that Mark Morgan and Jimmy Stevens contact Kirk Dunnam regarding the final report.

 New Business

 Preliminary results of 2007 – end of year balance for the General Fund was $9838. 

 Second Harvest Campaign Report – report was received as information.  Fund Balance is $150,628.

 2008 Church Pledge Report – was reviewed by the committee and forwarded to council.

 2008 Budget – budget was reviewed by the committee.

Committee members will contact churches requesting their commitment for 2008.

 Treasurer’s Report – it was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that the report be accepted and forwarded to council.

 Receiving Site Report – it was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that the report be accepted and forwarded to council.

 Review of the Reserve and Designated Accounts Directory – Loan Fund

Loan Fund will be publicized again at the presbytery meeting and fund will also be included in the newsletter article.

 Proposal to create the Mission Worker Fund – it was MOVED, SECONDED AND CARRIED that the fund be created.

Builders Fellowship Call – no requests received to date.

 There being no further business the meeting was adjourned with prayer at 2:45 p.m.
