Mission Committee
- Interprets
presbytery mission program and helps particular churches evaluate their
mission upon request. The
committee is comprised of nine members who help evaluate and oversee Project
Vida, St Andrews Mission, mission trips, peacemaking concerns and other
mission interests in the presbytery and the larger church.

First, Coahoma
– Pray a prayer
of Thanksgiving for the ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma, as
we seek to honor the past and look forward to the future with equal
enthusiasm. We continue to
worship God and celebrate His goodness to all of us.
We seek to minister to the community through our local mission fund.
We celebrate regularly through the First Presbyterian Frolic, an
evening of poetry, music, story telling, games and fun.
We seek to carry the good news of the gospel to the members of the
church, the community and the world.

experience steady growth. Pray
for Martha Martin, our Volunteer in
Mission
and Ministry as she leads an inspiring program for our rest home residents
and shut-ins and for Ann Hurt, our Commissioned Lay Pastor, who is very
involved in al areas of the church’s life.

- Please
hold our membership close in your prayers as we attempt to focus on the
important issues in God’s kingdom. Ask
God to help us respect the uniqueness and talents of each of our members
so that we can all care for and serve with one another.
Pray our congregation will continue to grow spiritually and share
the spirit with the larger world around us.

Manhattan, El Paso
- We agree with the
statement that the church exists by mission as fire exists by burning.
Our particular expression of this truth has come to include a
neighborhood health ministry that serves the whole person, body and soul.
Please pray for this ministry and pray that our increasing numbers
will be matched by an increasing awareness of God’s grace in every aspect
of our lives.

Presbytery Council
- Coordinates the
work of the other committees and exercise oversight of Presbytery’s
office, life and work. The
council oversees the work of the Nominating Committee, Financial Services
Sub-Committee and Personnel Sub-Committee. Presbytery Moderator for 2008
is
Cheryl Homsher
from Grace,
Midland
. Presbytery Council Moderator
for 2008 is Tom Koger from First, Coahoma.

Church Development Committee
- This twelve
member committee has the responsibility of encouraging the health and
vitality of the Presbyterian and Reformed witness in every church and
community within the bound of the presbytery.

28 – October 4, 2008
Committee on Training and Nurture
- This committee is
responsible for developing and providing resources and training for local
congregations and presbytery committees.
It coordinates youth programs and conferences, youth adult
ministries, conferences for stewardship and evangelism and is sensitive to
needs of racial ethnic churches.
